About us

Cancer Council NSW is an independent organisation that works across every area of cancer: research, prevention, support and advocacy. The Cancer Research Division at Cancer Council NSW employs 26 academic staff (including 4 Prof & A/Prof), 33 research support and professional staff and supervises 7 PhD students. Our experienced team of mathematical modellers, programmers, statisticians and public health researchers are experts in statistical modelling and projections, systematic reviews and epidemiological analysis. We have extensive experience in performing economic policy evaluations of different cancer screening and vaccination approaches for government, industry, NGOs both in Australia and internationally. Our experience extends across Asia, the Pacific, the United States and the United Kingdom. Our work underpinned the Renewed National Cervical Screening Program in Australia and has played a similar role in major changes to screening policy in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
